Huntington Beach, Calif. – January 7, 2011 – USA Water Polo is proud to announce the hiring of Claudia Dodson as the Associate Director of Competition and Christy Medigovich as Membership Manager. In this newly created position Dodson will be responsible for creation and development of new competitive events, leagues, and activities as well as oversight on national championship event planning, development, and execution. Medigovich will serve as the point of contact for all things membership related while continuing to develop an overall better member experience for all those involved in USA Water Polo. Medigovich replaces Whitney Collins who is departing following an engagement to pursue other opportunities.

The professional background each has along with their experience in our sport is the perfect match for where want to take our organization. I know both will begin making immediate contributions," said Scott Tanner, USA Water Polo Director of Sport Development.
Dodson brings a rich legacy of water polo experience with more than 30 years as an age group player, referee, coach, parent, and club administrator. Professionally she has taught in the Los Alamitos Unified School District, conducted private tutoring, and worked as an independent consultant and project manager for nearly 20 years.
Medigovich, a 4 year letter winner in Women's Water Polo at University of California Santa Barbara, was most recently a Conference Services Specialist with the Governance Group in San Diego. Prior to that, she was Director of Operations for the San Dieguito Boys and Girls Club Volleyball program managing more than 1000 athletes and 34 teams. She has also served as Head Goalkeeper Coach for San Diego Shores and continues to play with Old Mission Beach Athletic Club Women's Masters team. Last but not least, Medigovich serves as co-chair for Springboard, a San Diego based non-profit philanthropic group and volunteers for events throughout San Diego.
