courtesy of Waddlebird.com We recently caught up with Waddlebird Co-Founders Scott and Kevin Platshon. Scott just completed his freshman season at Stanford University and plays for the Junior National Team. Kevin is a Cal grad who helped the team win a National Championship in 2006 and now plays for the Olympic Club in San Francisco.
While the rivalry between Cal and Stanford certainly makes for some playful teasing, brothers Scott and Kevin Platshon have found a way to overcome it and work together on an issue they are both very passionate about. The pair founded Waddlebird just over a year ago with the mission to protect endangered species and their crucial habitat, establish conservation education and awareness programs, and help communities around the world build a sustainable relationship with nature.
Waddlebird designs "Clothing with a Cause" and donates 100% of proceeds to Conservation International and conservation education programs. The newest addition to the product line-up is a Water Polo Suit, featuring silhouettes of endangered aquatic species which can be seen at http://waddlebird.flyingcart.com/?p=detail&pid=1&cat_id=1. "Combining Waddlebird with our love of water polo is a natural progression for the company" said Scott Platshon. "We are both really involved in the sport and hope that our community will support one of the most important issues facing us today."
Waddlebird works closely with Conservation International, an organization that protects vulnerable ecosystems around the world. The pair has decided to donate the proceeds from the suit to the Galapagos Islands Project. The Galapagos are home to more than 9000 species and nearly half are facing extinction.
Suits cost $40. Visit http://waddlebird.flyingcart.com/index.php?p=home to order your suit today!
