BERKELEY – Tickets are now available for the 2010 NCAA Men's Water Polo Championship, hosted Dec. 4-5 at Cal's Spieker Aquatics Complex. The four-team national championship tournament will include winners from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation, the Western Water Polo Association, the Collegiate Water Polo Association and an at-large qualifier.
First round match times will be 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4. The consolation match will be at 1 p.m. and the championship match at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5.
Tickets for the NCAA Men's Water Polo Tournament are on sale through the Tickets link on CalBears.com and at the Cal Athletic Ticket Office (800-GO BEARS or 800-462-3277). The two-day ticket prices include $60 for Preferred Seating (mid-pool), $50 for an Adult Package and $30 for Senior/Student/Youth (seniors are considered age 65 and above, youth are grade 12 and under).
Single-day ticket prices are $35 for Preferred Seating, $30 for an Adult Package and $20 for Senior/Student/Youth.
The Cal men's water polo team is currently ranked No. 1 in the nation with a 13-2 overall mark and a 2-0 record in the MPSF. The Golden Bears, led by junior Ivan Rackov, the top scorer in the MPSF with 41 goals in 14 matches, play at UC Irvine and Pepperdine this weekend. Cal last captured the 2006 and 2007 NCAA titles under head coach Kirk Everist. The Bears own an NCAA-record 13 national water polo titles since their first crown in 1973.
