Huntington Beach, CA – September 24 – Marcy Crouch has joined USA Water Polo as National Teams Operations Manager it was announced earlier today by Guy Baker, Director of Olympic Development. Crouch will work closely with the Men's and Women's National Teams in regards to budget, planning, fund raising, and a variety of other areas. In addition Crouch will supervise the Senior National Teams Managers and National Teams Coordinator.
"After an extensive national search, it was clear that Marcy was the best candidate for the job. Marcy has an abundance of experience in sports, business, and sports administration. She will be a valuable addition to our department and our entire organization," said Baker.
"I am delighted to be able to combine my passions of sport and business in my new role with USA Water Polo," said Crouch. She continued, "To be working in an organization representing the USA at a national level, and to be able to work in my hometown of Huntington Beach, is a perfect combination. I am thankful to USA Water Polo and to Guy Baker for this amazing opportunity, and I look forward to getting to know the water polo community."
Crouch joins USA Water Polo from Edward Jones Investments but has an extensive background in sports and sport administration. Prior to Edward Jones Investments, Crouch worked for the Stanford Athletic Department where her primary responsibilities for the Stanford Athletic Department were to work on the overall business, marketing and implementation plan for the new Stanford Football Stadium. In addition she was the Head Softball Coach for five years at Santa Clara University, earning Pacific Coast Softball Conference coach of the year awards in 2003 and 2004.
Crouch was a renowned student-athlete at Stanford, earning softball All-American honors in addition to Stanford's Pam Strathairn Award for female student-athlete with the best competitive attitude. She is a graduate of Stanford University with a degree in American Studies with a minor in Psychology. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from Santa Clara University, Leavey School of Business.
In addition Crouch holds a Master's in Education, with an emphasis in counseling sport psychology from Boston University. No stranger to Orange County, Crouch is a graduate of Marina High School in her hometown of Huntington Beach where she was a three sport star in volleyball, soccer and softball.
