Stockton, Ca July 24- Opening day for the Women's National Championships started off early this morning at UOP Aquatic Center, where Diablo faced Houston in the first game of the day. Diablo firing in all cylinders outscoring Houston, 21-3. Getting them off to a great start. Diablo kept their momentum going as they beat CHAWP 12-7 in their second game to go 2-0 to start the tournament. Also going 2 for 2 on opening day, SBWPC as they defeated UNI Pacific, 10-2 and American River, 14-7. SBWPC off to a strong start.
The second venue for the tournament St. Mary's Aquatic Center was also full of action. Stanford RED Women's Open team picked up right where their 20 and Under team left off, by defeating NYAC B in dominating fashion, 21-4. Stanford RED went on to finish the day 2-0 by defeating SBWPC B, 17-9 in their second game.
Another team off to a hot start was Commerce, who notched two victories on the day beating SBWPC B, 12-2 and NYAC B in a close one, 13-1. Also remaining perfect on the day, NYAC who defeated NCSD, 17-4 and SJ Splash, 10-5.
Tomorrow is the beginning of pool play, as teams look to move on to the quarterfinal rounds.
