Mission Viejo, CA - December 21 - A full field of golfers turned out in force this past Friday, December 18 at the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo, California for the 7th Annual USA Water Polo Golf Tournament. Designed to help support USA Water Polo and the National Teams, over 130 golfers hit the links in Southern California for a great day of golf that was capped off by a silent auction and keynote address by Olympian Dwight Stones.
It was a banner day for low scores on the course as the top spot went to the team of Art Hale, AD Hale, Rob Forman, and Rick Pruden with a score of 53. In second place was Sean Buckner, Shea Buckner, Robin Carden, and Adam Hewko with a score of 57, and rounding things out in third place was Bob Pillow, Ed Baker, Tom Taylor, and Matt Soto with a score of 57, a tiebreaker determining the third place standing.
Andrew Rowe and Marcy Crouch took home the straightest drive award for the men and the women while Mike Baron and Jeanine Herbert took Closest to the Pin. Shane Unger closed out the individual awads with the longest drive.
Thanks again to all those that came out to support the National Teams and those that donated prizes for the silent auction and raffles in addition to volunteers and staff that helped make for a successful event.
