IRVINE, CA- Mikasa Sports has launched a new, exclusive ball for the junior water polo market. The new ball, an all RED ball with white labeling and white stripes will only be available for 10 and unders in the junior size.
Aside from the new red color and white stripes the new ball also features deeper groves for improved grip and tack making it easier for the juniors to hold the ball.
"Mikasa along with USA Water Polo wanted to give junior water polo its own identity. Creating a ball for junior water polo players is only the first step in building a pipeline of future water polo players and in growing the sport of water polo" said Richard McCoy, President of Mikasa Sports, USA.
The new ball will be used at USA Water Polo tournaments where juniors will be competing including the age group competition at the Junior Olympics tournament.
During the next quadrennial USA Water Polo will be focused on building and growing the sport of water polo through teaching sound fundamentals. With Guy Baker's new role as the Director of Olympic Development, Mikasa and USA Water Polo wanted to focus on youth water polo and increase the numbers of participants.
The new W5008RED is now available from any of the approved Mikasa dealers across the country.
