San Diego, CA - May 15 - The 2022 Fisher Cup concluded at UCSD Canyonview Aquatic Center in San Diego, CA this evening with The Olympic Club winning the championship. Olympic Club was a perfect 4-0 on the weekend to claim the title. New York Athletic Club finished as the runner-up while LAWPC Senior Team (UCLA) took home third place. For complete final standings, see below.

The Olympic Club Runs The Table: The Olympic Club swept their weekend slate to become 2022 Fisher Cup Champions! Olympic Club faced off with New York Athletic Club in the championship game this evening that came down to the wire.
Thomas Carroll converted on an early power play goal to put Olympic Club ahead, but Ryder Roberts and Sawyer Rhodes answered for NYAC to give them a 2-1 lead after the first quarter. Hannes Daube opened the scoring in the second period to extend NYAC's lead to 3-1 before Olympic Club put together the turning point in the game. Jackson Kimbell answered after Daube's goal followed by Blake Parrish, Odysseas Masmanidis, George Avian, and Paul Reynolds with consecutive goals for Olympic Club before Roberts stopped the bleeding for NYAC. The run flipped a 3-1 deficit into a 6-4 advantage heading into halftime.
Following intermission, Tyler Abramson converted on the power play and Reynolds found the back of the net on a counter for Olympic Club before Daube scored again for NYAC to bring the Olympic Club lead to 8-5. Reynolds and Rhodes exchanged goals on respective power plays followed by Kimbell and Daube trading points. Olympic Club led 10-7 before Reed Cotterill scored on a counter for NYAC, but Luca Cupido got on the scoresheet late in the third to give Olympic Club a 11-8 lead heading into the final frame. Daube opened the fourth quarter scoring less than one minute in before Reynolds pushed the Olympic Club lead back to three, 12-9. Daube converted on a penalty earned by Alex Obert and Alex Roelse scored for NYAC with under a minute to go. NYAC ultimately got one last shot to tie the game and went to the Top Scorer of the Fisher Cup in Hannes Daube, but his shot sailed just wide of the cage and Olympic Club held on to win, 12-11.
UCLA Fends Off Alumni to Claim 3rd Place: UCLA opened the 3rd Place game against Alumni ready to roll as they took a 5-2 lead after the first quarter behind goals from Chase Dodd, Guillermo Andre Ocasio, Trey Doten, Tommy Gruwell, and Ethan Crooks. Alumni was quick to answer back in the second quarter, recording a 5-1 frame with goals from Andrew Reego, Ido Goldschmidt, Bogdan Djerkovic, Kevin Witt, and Brent Teraoka to take a 7-6 lead into halftime.
UCLA won the third period 4-3 on the backs of Gruwell, Andre Ocasio, Dodd, and Hayden Nightingale to even the score at 10 heading to the fourth. In the final quarter, Jeremie Cote scored back-to-back goals for Alumni only for Dodd to do the same for UCLA. Matthew Hosmer put Alumni back in front with a goal on the power play followed by Dodd scoring again for UCLA. With the score tied at 13 and one minute to play, Crooks scored the winning goal on the UCLA power play.
Individual Performers: Johnny Hooper was named Tournament MVP while Olympic Club teammate Jack Turner took home Top Goalkeeper. Santa Barbara's Sam Nangle was named Top Scorer and Riptide's Leo Yuno was the tournament's Rookie of the Year.
