GREECE:
The largest amount of Men's National Team players competed in the A1 Ethniki League in Greece with 12 players competing for 8 different clubs. The season was delayed twice for the COVID-19 pandemic leading to a shortened schedule. First
Max Irving and
Hannes Daube turned in great seasons for longtime Greek power Olympiacos with Irving scoring 43 goals and Daube 42 as they helped Olympiacos win the Greek Super Cup, Greek Cup and A1 Ethniki League Championship. Those goals included 13 apiece in the LEN Champions League as they helped Olympiacos to a 7th place finish in the Final 8.
Next up
Alex Bowen scored 22 goals for Apollon across all competitions helping them to a third place league finish with a record of (11-0-2). Finishing right behind Apollon was
Matt Farmer who scored 25 goals helping lead Peristeri to a 4th place finish (8-0-4), its highest ever in the A1 Ethniki League.Â
Alex Wolf joined Hydraikos late in the season but put in several great performances guiding them to a 5th place finish with a record of (7-1-5) and a spot in next season's Euro Cup. Also
Bennett Williams scored 19 goals for Nox-Xania as they finished league play in 10th place with a record of (4-1-8).
After a slow start to the season
Johnny Hooper had a great second half scoring 40 goals across all competitions while
Chancellor Ramirez added 16 goals with both playing a big role in helping Palaio Faliro to a 9th place league finish with a record of (5-1-7). More Team USA teammates teamed up as
Ben Stevenson racked up 31 goals while
Dylan Woodhead added 11 as both guided Glyfada to an 11th place league finish with a record of (4-0-9). Finally Tommy Gruwell and
Drew Holland briefly teamed up at Chios with Gruwell returning to UCLA after the first COVID-19 delay. In his brief time there Gruwell contributed four goals while Holland played out the whole season as Chios finished tied for 11th place with a record of (4-0-9).
ITALY:
Three Men's National Team players competed for Italian clubs. First
Ben Hallock competed for Italian powerhouse Pro Recco but only in the LEN Champions League. Hallock scored four goals in the competition including a big one in Pro Recco's come from behind semifinal victory to help lead them to the final. They would then go on to defeat FTC as they won the 2021 LEN Champions League. On top of that
Marko Vavic competed for Roma in the Serie A1 league in Italy while
Luca Cupido was a late addition to Camogli in the Serie A2 competition. Vavic contributed 15 goals as he helped guide Roma to a second place finish in the play out round as they avoided relegation. Cupido added 7 goals for Camogli in a brief stint for the club as he helped lead them to the promotion playoffs.
CROATIA:
Alex Obert competed for Croatian giants Jug while teammate
Jack Turner was on the practice squad. Obert scored 34 goals across all competitions including 7 goals in the LEN Champions League as he helped them to a 5th place finish in the Final 8. Despite going undefeated in league play Jug finished as the runner up in the Croatian Championship as well as the Adriatic League and the Croatian Cup.
MONTENEGRO:
Ash Molthen competed for Primorac in Montenegro. Molthen scored 30 goals across all competitions including 5 during the Euro Cup as he helped lead Primorac to a runners up finish in the Montenegro League and a spot in the Final 8 of the LEN Euro Cup.
HUNGARY:
Lastly
Kacper Langiewicz competed for Kaposvari in the Hungarian League. Langiewicz scored 15 goals as Kaposvari finished in 12th place in the league with a record of (10-1-19).
