USA Water Polo

A USA Water Polo Academic All-American is a student-athlete who has earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.6 or higher for the 2011–2012 academic school year; completed the 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the spring of 2012; is a current USA Water Polo Member; and has competed in a USA Water Polo National Event during the 2011–2012 academic school year. There is a $25 non-refundable application fee. This year's application is available online.

2011-2012 Eligibility
1.    Must have completed the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade during Spring of 2012.
2.    Be a current USA Water Polo member (2012 membership season).
3.    Competed in a USA Water Polo National Event or National Event Qualifier
4.    Must have a 3.6 grade point average on a 4.0 scale (weighted) for entire 2011-2012 academic year. 
5.    GPA is calculated for the following academic subjects: History/Social Science, English,
       Mathematics, Laboratory Science, Foreign Language Arts – Visual/Performing and Computer Science.
6.    Application and fee MUST be completed online by Tuesday, July 24, 2012.
7.    Incomplete or Late Applications will not be reviewed and/or accepted.

2011-2012 Required Materials
1.) Completed application - Application and fee due by Tuesday, July 24, 2012 (no exceptions)

2.) Official transcript

We require an Official Transcript from the school with the official school seal for the entire 2011–2012 academic year. This must be mailed in a sealed envelope or emailed directly from the school’s online transcript system. Faxes, opened envelopes, or forwarded email transcripts WILL NOT be accepted. To be considered “official” mailed transcripts must remain sealed as issued by the school. Forward these documents directly USA Water Polo as-is; please do not open the envelope as this will void the transcripts. Transcripts will be accepted through Friday, August 31^st–but application & fee MUST be received prior to July 24^th to qualify for the extended transcript deadline. Please note: Transcripts will not be returned.

3.) Participation in a national event

National Events Include:
            2011 Junior Olympics
            2012 Junior Olympics Qualifier
            2012 ODP Program Participant

4.) Fee of $25

There is a non-refundable application fee of $25 due upon application submission online. Applications are not complete until fee and transcript have been received.

Awards Given
1.    An Academic All-American certificate will be mailed to the student-athlete. 
2.    Outstanding Achiever recognition is given to each individual who maintained a 4.0 GPA or higher.
